A fire drawn around
Her like a shawl
A mind for a whip
A heart for a stone
To hurlA voice for the howling wind
Stubbornness for a stump
A look for a cool stream flowing
A temper for a rock-slide
Closing eyes for the falling sun
Flesh for a patch of soil
The blood for a hot spring
The blood for a roar
The blood for the glue
The blood for a hammer poundingSkin for heat in the night
Running for the sky
Jumping for all lost things
A laugh for nothing at all
A smile for a lonely tree swaying- - - - -

Hey Friends. Here are a bunch of photos from the last two weeks of our travels east of the Mississippi. Starting with the aftermath of the van getting broken into in Montreal (my computer was stolen…..ARRRRRGH thievery!). The swarthy Brazilian looking fellows…
Are in fact swarthy Brazilian fellows. They are a band called Momo who we were lucky enough to play with twice. Really good band, really great dudes. Check them out
HERE. Then a bunch of photos from our time recording with Eric Neave and the rest of the Cedarwell family in Sheboygan. Their record is really going to be great and we were so happy to share a little bit in the project. If you don’t know Cedarwell, educate yourself
HERE.

Jason “Mountain” Sunde, Jesse “Laser Eye Patch” Edgington, The Dardevil Christopher “Playing at Kilby Court in Salt lake City” WrightWe just played in Salt Lake City two nights ago at a great place called Kilby Court. Fine long standing all ages venue. Fine people.
We played with two bands from the area, one being David Williams, check him out
HERE, and the other being Bronco, check them out
HERE. (I’m rather confounded by the structure of the previous sentence. Please forgive my almost certain misuse of comas.) We stayed with a friend from a band out of Salt Lake called Band Of Annuals. Check them out
HERE. He has a dog named Lady who is a puppy. She is enormously cute and ungainly. I was struck again, as I am with some frequency when around friends with pets, that if you look objectively at the situation for a moment, isn’t it strange that we have little furry creatures running around our houses? On top of which, these little creatures yearn for another species’ affections…It’s just a thought that strikes me now an again. We’re heading to Boise today. Also, I’m reading the seventh book of the Harry Potter series and it’s gotten really heavy. Was Dumbaldore as good as Harry always thought? I mean he really wasn’t very forth coming with his past now that I think about it…..

Jon’s shiny shoes and our new friend Danny joining us on violin in Omaha.
Ouch. Forgive me it’s been quite a while since our last post. Some things happened:
- We played a ton of fun shows including one crazy show at the massive Riverside Theater in Milwaukee opening for Bon Iver - an incredible honor.
- We had a fun show at Pop Montreal (love Canada!) but then had our window smashed in the middle of the day and Jon’s computer stolen. Luckily, we have insurance.
- That made me sad.
- We did some recording with our friend Erik Neave of the band Cedarwell but I got the flu to the swine and sweated in out in bed with extreme exhaustion for the next week.
- We spent some time relaxing at home after our too long nine weeks on the road without a break and now we’ve learned our lesson.
- We’re back on the road making toward the West with renewed vigor.
Love.jason.
